A need for B Corp support
In a nutshell:
Approximately 75% of organisations attempting B Corp certification do not succeed.
We've developed three solutions to increase the number of successful applications.
Currently, there are 7,500 certified B Corporations worldwide, a 30% increase from 2022. However, this growth doesn't tell the full story, as many organisations fail to meet the certification criteria.
For example, in 2021, over 900 new companies became B Corp certified. But more than 3,500 companies applied in the same year meaning over 75% didn’t receive the certificate. Assumably, these organisations had different expectations when applying.
This situation may indicate two possibilities:
The certification process is too difficult
Only a highly prepared group of applicants succeeds
Most agree that the first situation is far from ideal. We believe the second scenario is more attractive. Ideally, every applicant should understand the eligibility criteria before applying, resulting in a higher success rate.
