Brands are moralizing strongholds.

“What does it mean to live a good life and act accordingly?”

This is the domain of morality and corporate ethics, and it’s becoming increasingly relevant!

Until recently, ethics was defined by religion and religious teachings, whether that be the Quran, the Bible, the Torah or any other religious book. Our notions of good and bad were directly governed by what we learned in these books. However, with the rise of enlightenment and an increased understanding of the world through science, our societies have also seen a rise in atheism. Therefore, individuals and organizations nowadays make their own decision about what is good, and what is bad. Making your own decisions implies the freedom to do so... Are we really as free as we think we are? After all: Freedom - and the ability to decide - comes with great responsibility. Welcome to the field of ethics...

In recent years, new values have been emerging, values that seemed to have been forgotten in the last couple of decades. Increasingly, society cares about diversity, equality, sustainability, inclusion, fairness, ending discrimination and old power structures…. These are important on an individual level, with the rise of movement such as the #MeToo, Black Lives Matter, Fridays for Future and the list goes on. But they are also becoming highly relevant for businesses, as we can see with the growing number of B Corps around the world and a desire to improve companies’ corporate social responsibility.

Strategic Planning & organization development.

Anyone who has ever worked for a large corporate will know what this entails: external analysis of the changing environment, internal analysis of the skills and a new direction to lead the way. Developing new strategies taking into account these emerging values also entails an adjustment of the brand and therefore new behavior. Companies, therefore, need to develop a new culture: a new code of conduct. If you want your employees to behave in a way you deem ethical, then you need to create the right environment for it.

Interested in creating a new ethical code of conduct in line with your company values?

BR-ND People is working together in the field of corporate ethics with Joris Jacobs, Master philosopher and expert in ethics, to help you and your company create the right code of conduct, through an involving and engaging co-creative process. We are here to help brands integrate ethics into their behavior.

For now, we are able to offer you three different propositions, ranging from a quick immersion via a full audit of morality and ethics, to the creation of a new ethical code.

We can offer a solution.

Ethics Workshop

Quick immersion in corporate ethics

This workshop is a fun and inspiring introduction of what ethics is all about. It aims to create awareness in the organisation and spark the discussion internally on what ethics could mean for your organisation.

Ethics Audit

Full audit on morality and ethics

With this audit, we will hold conversations with people in the company to gain an understanding and an assessment of the current ethics of the company is. Also, we will assess the existing code of conduct if available. The audit will deliver a fact-based insights and a clear recommendation on the next steps.

New Code of Ethics

Creation of a code of ethics

This proposition is taking the audit to the next level. The aim is to co-create with the organisation a new or revised code of ethics. Through collaboration and co-creation with the people in and outside your organisation, we facilitate the process by ensuring that it is embraced by all.
