The challenge: from a lonely spark to a collective flame
In the world of creative communication, there is often a silent tension. On one hand, there is the thrill of a brilliant idea; on the other, the knowledge that our planet and society require more than just clever campaigns. Many agencies are already working on meaningful projects, yet those positive sparks often remain isolated in a system driven by fierce competition and financial pressure. Individual successes are wonderful, but systemic problems demand systemic solutions. The challenge for Amsterdam’s creative industry was clear: how do we stop fighting over the same slice of pie and start rewriting the rules of the game?
Our journey together: co-creation as an engine for change
Amsterdam Impact recognized this need and asked BR-ND People to facilitate the journey of the "Coalition of Impact Frontrunners." This is not a talking shop, but a movement of agencies that believe we should not compete on sustainability and inclusivity, but collaborate.
Using our science-based and playful approach, we created space for vital conversations between agencies that are normally rivals. Through dynamic sessions, we mapped the sector's "brainprint": the enormous socio-psychological impact we have on what people believe is possible. "Certain global challenges are too big to solve as an individual agency," says our co-founder Alexander Koene. "Let’s come together as a creative industry to accelerate this transition."
The transformation: a blueprint for collective impact
The coalition has initiated the shift from business as usual to an economy driven by positive impact. By mapping frontrunners and existing initiatives, we are building a shared knowledge base. The results are tangible and practical: a joint manifesto serving as our North Star and a toolkit to anchor impact in the daily work of every agency.
The result is a growing network where energy levels rise and connection deepens. We are no longer just shaping campaigns; we are shaping the values of our clients. It proves that when we unite our strengths, we create a culture where the entire sector can thrive and make a genuine contribution to a better world.
